Welcome to the site dedicated to The WDM.

Robert Downey Jr., Will Smith. Doctor Who. The Joker... What do all of these people have in common???
Welcome to the site dedicated to The WDM.

During conversations, I'm often stopped and asked, "What is a 'WDM'??" -----> WDM = Well-Dressed Male

A term I thought up years ago, after realizing how many men don't know or care how to dress well. The scene so sparse in fact that when a nicely dressed boy was actually spotted, the sighting sparked a tiny celebration amongst us girls.

That's what this blog is about, appreciating boys in nice outfits. It's pretty simple.

My WDMs range from Modern (suits, street/casual wear) to Period costuming to Fantasy and Cosplay costuming. My only requirement is that you be male, and that I like your style, whatever it is. We applaud you all for caring about what you look like. Or appearing to care about what you look like. :D

Also expect to see hair-related posts.. I'm a fan of boys with fun/nice/interesting hair.

I use my term 'WDM' to promote a good thing, going forth through the internet with images taken from red carpet events, videos, magazines, films, shows, candids, whatever! to use those pics for good, and not evil.

Awesome for your eyeballs. You're welcome.

So this happened last night....

He was Nom'd for three PCAs.....

won TWO of those...

All the while looking damn good...

Cause that's all my boy knows how to do.

RDJ gives love and receives love.

You're welcome.

edit: published a day later than intended, so "last night" was two nights before date.

Dragon*Con 2011, you got WDMs!

Indeed. I spotted tall, dark, and gorgeous in the lobby Friday afternoon, stopped right in my tracks to whip out the camera. Wow.
My picture is not the best, so doesn't do him justice here, the costume is fantastic. And since I was having a black and gold thing going with my own costumes, I was really into that color scheme, so thought it was extra-yummy.

I love the mask, the hat (you know I love the hat, knowing how I feel about hats, and a gorgeous black top hat was part of my costume the next day!), the coat, the everything. And I'll be tracking down more pics of everything our boy is wearing, because it turns out I know him! No idea at the time.

Also, to add a teeny note here about character and attitude... It's not always only about what you wear, guys, but also how you wear it. Not only was this guy wearing something bad ass, he owned it. Damn cool swagger that we give a two thumbs up.
Whether it's costuming or everyday wear, just try to find something you enjoy, are comfortable in, and with confidence just have a great time with it. You'll look great!

I love cons.

New posts coming!...

Terrible things happened in April and I've been behind on my blogs ever since! Booo...
I'm getting back to stuff though, and can't wait to start updating these blogs. So much good stuff out there that I need to blog about!

Costuming and Cosplay - Dusted

I have no idea who this boy is, or what exactly he's playing, if anything specific at all, but everything he's doing here is gorgeous. Including himself. :D

*squee*
It's a CyberSteamishVictoriany punkish thing. I wish I had more detailed pics of this! I'd like a closeup of that vest, it looks to have a lovely pattern on it. And the striped tie pulls that whole top part together. And the pants!
I also consider this a hair post, because I LOVE the styling here. I feel like it's a little cyberpunkish, too. Wish I had detail of all the stuff he's got going on in there.
Also, he's doing extra nice things by having accessories, the gloves, the watch, the goggles.

Put your eyes on this lovely male and enjoy. And I do know some fellow geek girls whose jaws are gonna drop when they see this guy, so I suggest you ladies put your bibs on first!

Anime - Gaara of the Sand

.

Don't be mistaken! Just because it's animated, doesn't mean it's not Well-Dressed

IF you're a Naruto fan, you've followed our fav characters from the original series to the latest Naruto:Shippuden series, and you'll note all the characters have slightly updated appearances.

The very first thing I noticed about this new series, was one of my fav characters has a new look. And it is fantastic. :D I don't really know how to quite describe what Gaara is wearing in the new show, all I know is, it's 100% better than his clothes from original series. From Narutopedia! :

In Part II, battling against Deidara and during the Kage summit, he wore full-length dark trousers, with a pair of laces on each leg, respectively a few inches below the waist and the knees, a long-sleeved crimson coat with flaring hemlines on the front and the back, a grey holster vest held in place by a single strap over his left shoulder and by two buckled belts which he uses to carry his gourd. He also wears another pair of casually worn belts around his waist. He is also seen wearing Kazekage robes, and a simple black tunic-trousers suit, the latter one greatly resembling Kankurō's suit, and worn for the memorial of Elder Chiyo. All the time, he has been seen wearing Sunagakure's standard shinobi sandals. As the Regimental Commander of the Allied Shinobi Forces, he added his village's flak jacket to his standard outfit.

Ooooo. AND! As we cosplayers like to dive right in to our favorite shows, if you were looking to play Gaara and you didn't want to or couldn't make your own costume, you might be searching online for something resembling this:

Really, I love the leather vest over the robes, I love the straps and buckles. Yup. Sometimes his outer robe is a dark red/brown color, and sometimes it's black. I've only seen part of Shippuden so I don't know if this is because of the show or just random artwork. An any case, Gaara has altogether gotten himself a new look, and I likes it.

Gary Oldman

The two smartest things Gary Oldman has ever done...

#1
Say "yes" to Luc Besson. And proceed to go in front of the camera and lose his sh*t for 110 minutes in a brilliantly bizarre and belief-defying performance in a little flick we like to call The Professional.

#2

Put this outfit on:

Whew. Hey, have I talked about how much I love this period for menswear? And silvers and grays? And top hats? And Gary Oldman?
Plus, the fact that I've seen this cosplay a lot at cons, knowing how difficult it often is to find boys who like to play dress up, says tons.

Okay, five things:
#3 Immortal Beloved, #4 Fifth Element (again saying yes to Luc Besson),
#5
Romeo is Bleeding

Yup!!!

On The Runway

I wonder if Ermenegildo Zegna has done much costuming for films. Cause he should. I love the layering here, and the colors. Wish I had closeups of these!!

Seen on the runway during India fashion week. I wouldn't have ever thought to pair that tie with that jacket. But I like it, and especially the jacket. They picked the right model for this look, too. I wish I knew who this designer was!
